There's nothing in the world like flying inside an open cockpit biplane aircraft, while gazing from the inside of a classic 1940 Stearman. You will be in good hands with veteran pilot and owner of Beeline Airways, Glenn Smith.
This historical biplane, dates back to the World War II era, a very robust aircraft. It's classic look is an eye-catcher.
Before climbing aboard, Smith will give you leather helmets and goggles to slip on, protecting you from the wind when you are up, up and away. The passenger cockpit is small, but can fit two passengers.
Cruising at about 80 to 100 miles, and being anywhere from 500 to 1000 feet high, this smooth ride will afford with you amazing panoramic views. The hum of the Stearman engine is unforgettable.
Here are the three excursions that Beeline Airways offers:
North County: This 20 minute ride covers the countryside of Fallbrook, Bonsall and its surrounding areas. You'll be passing over some lovely estates.
Coaster: This flight runs around 40 minutes, taking passengers to the Oceanside and Carlsbad coastline.
Barnstormer: For those die-hard thrill seekers, this adventure will give you aerobatic barrel rolls and loop de loop thrills. Do note that because you will be wearing a bulky parachute for this adventure, only one person can fit in the cockpit. The "Barnstormer" is thrill a minute kind of experience!
At the Fallbrook Airpark, there are picnic benches set up with a center stage view of the runway. Consider taking your lunch with you and munch up there. Dominick's Italian Deli, less than 5 minutes away from the Fallbrook Airpark, makes wonderful sandwiches, so consider stopping in there for some grub.
Enjoy some back-in-the-past airplane fun with Beeline Airways!
