Celebrate Good Times.
It's that time of year to celebrate Atlanta's gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual community. The weekend event includes a lively parade, a march, live music, a marketplace, commitment ceremonies (Georgia is still behind on the allowing of gay marriages), car show, children's show, and a youth pride prom. The Parade starts at 10th Street and Piedmont Avenue 1 p.m. July 6. Women's march begins at Piedmont and Pine 6 p.m. July 5.
In years past, Midtown Atlanta played home to the festival. This year, Atlanta is in the midst of a pretty rough drought, so they grass areas of Piedmont are not so grassy anymore. The result is that the bulk of the festival has moved indoors to the Atlanta Civic Center. It's not such a bad thing, since this week the temperature is hovering in the low 90's. Take a look at the website for an updated list of music events, including a headline show on Sunday night by Tiffany.
