I'm an Indian girl living, loving and lost in Madrid -- I've been here over a year now. Here I write and rant for a handful of travel-blogs, and teach English to pay my rent. When I'm not trying to work, I'm normally at a bar eating tapas and drinking beer, or shaking it on some dance floor in the city.
I have previously lived in India, England, Dubai, Australia, and Valencia in Spain. All the cities I've lived in are awesome but Madrid takes the cake. I can be contacted at abha.malpani@gmail.com
Other blogs I write for: www.gadling.com, www.vagablogging.net, www.writtenroad.com, www.mapmagazine.com

Madrid on an all sports high!
Last week Madrid was a riot (a fun-fiesta-riot that is) because they won the Euro Cup 2008 for the first time in 44 years. This week they are a riot because Rafael Nadal won the Wimbledon final against world number one Federer, the first time in 42 years!
The match was about 5-hours long and had everyone on tenacles as both Nadal and Federer fought for every point. The news and TV stations cannot stop talking about the match, and everyone is just happy and out to have a good time.
Madrileños do not need a reason to celebrate, but when they do, it's all out party time! And, this week most locals begin an "intensive schedule", i.e. 8am-2pm, and then they are off. In other words, a great time to be in Madrid, especially if you want to party!
