Two Billion Photos and Counting….

Now, here’s a major milestone: there are now more than two billion photos on Flickr.

That’s impressive, although it would be nice to see more of Flickr’s photos geo-tagged. Right now, only 30.8 million photos are geo-tagged, which works out to a very modest 1.5%. Hopefully, there will be more activity when Flickr introduces new and improved geo-tagging tool soon.

So what did Flickr do to “reward” the person who uploaded the two billionth photo? Apparently, not much according to Mashable.
